Its support for myriad third-party online backup services is second to none. With all of these different storage options the wires can get crossed and it can become increasingly difficult to ensure all of your data is backed up to the correct service. You likely also use one or more of these services to store different buckets of your data. Whether that be Dropbox, Google Drive, SharePoint, you name it. Over the years you’ve likely used more than one cloud or online storage services. IDrive has three Personal plans that cover one user with unlimited computers and devices: a 5TB plan for $59.62 the first year (or $119.25 for two years), and $79.50 each year after a 10TB plan for $74.62 the first year (or $149.25 for two years) and $99.50 each year after as well as a 20TB plan that’s $149.62 for the first year (299.25 for two years) and $199.50 after that. A Team plan can cover from 5 to 100 users, with an equivalent number of devices and terabytes of storage prices range from $74.62 to $1499.62 for the first year. The company also provides additional storage for syncing all your devices and PCs, allows sharing of files with anyone, and has the ability to back up to a local drive. And though it’s not the cheapest, it’s still affordable and comes with backup clients for nearly every PC and device. We recommend taking a look at the alternatives before you commit to Livedrive.Just as when we originally reviewed all the major online backup services, iDrive remains the most comprehensive online backup service. In addition, Livedrive is more expensive than competitors like Backblaze and IDrive. However, the service doesn’t support continuous backup or encrypt files on its servers, and it won’t image your entire hard drive. Livedrive’s cloud storage platform may work well for users who need unlimited space. You can get 5TB of storage space for $69.50 a year, and there’s no limit to how many devices you can connect. If you need file syncing across devices, consider IDrive. In addition, Backblaze will mail you a hard drive containing all of your files, should you ever need to conduct a full restore.Ĭurrently, you can also get Backblaze free for the first year when you sign up for ExpressVPN, which costs $6.67 a month. Interface and in useīackblaze offers unlimited storage for a single computer for $60 a year, and has virtually all of the same features as Livedrive’s Backup plan. Livedrive doesn’t enable you to request a hard drive with your files, so restoring your entire computer after a major data loss can be a lengthy process. Simply select the files or folders you want to restore, and the software will download them from the cloud as a zipped folder. If you need to restore files, you can do so from the desktop app. This includes Mac and Windows computers, iOS and Android smartphones, and even gaming consoles like the Xbox 360. With a Briefcase, Pro Suite, or Business plan, you can also sync files between any number of devices. This isn’t a major problem, but it does mean that Livedrive uses more bandwidth than is strictly necessary when syncing files. However, block-level sync - which enables you to back up only the parts of a file that have changed since your original upload - isn’t supported. Livedrive can store up to 30 versions of each file, and you can use the desktop software to automatically upload new iterations to the cloud after every change. It’s also worth noting that Livedrive doesn’t create a complete image of your computer disk, so you’ll want to keep a separate backup of your operating system. That includes data from any connected hard drives and NAS drives (with a paid upgrade), although Livedrive can’t be used to back up servers. The main selling point of Livedrive is the ability to back up an unlimited amount of data from one or more computers.
